Perception isn’t always reality, and if you are concerned about your appearance because you could stand to “lose a few” here are some ways to appear thinner without losing a pound.
Dress in one color. Solid colors tend to elongate your figure. Black is not particularly slenderizing, it is the uniform color you are shooting for
Don’t Wear Vertical Stripes
Stand partially sideways , planting one foot in front of the other. Place your weight on your back foot.
Your arms should be held slightly off of your body; arm flab “pressed” against the torso can make the whole torso seem wider, thus your appearance heavier.
Posture is key; with your shoulders back, chest forward and stomach sucked in slightly you can make your appearance thinner than actual
If you are having a photo taken, try and not let the photographer take the picture looking up at you – this is when you hear about cameras “adding 10 pounds” on to your appearance.
Objects can be used to hide the size of certain body parts; a jacket over the shoulder, a hat or purse in front of your belly
Fake tans can make you appear thinner as well
